Adult Faith Formation

 

We offer a variety of opportunities throughout the year for adults to nurture their faith.  Check our calendar and bulletin for current offerings. For more information on these and the programs listed be= low contact our faith formation director, Brenda Stinson at 436-4555.=

 

Rite= of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

RCIA is the process = whereby adults prepare to become full members of the Roman Catholic Church.  The process begins with a period of inquiry about Catholicism without obligation or commitment.  Those who choose to do so then ent= er into a period of further instruction. During this time, you’ll study = and discuss the Catholic experience with RCIA team members and other adults alr= eady committed to the Catholic way of life. You will experience rituals of commitment culminating with the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirma= tion and Eucharist, which customarily take place during the Easter Vigil Mass.  Click here for a more detailed introduction.  Potential candidates are:

 

  • non-baptized persons in the Christian tradition.<= /o:p>
  • baptized= Christians who have not been fully initia= ted into the Catholic community through the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.
  • baptized= Catholics who have not completed the init= iation process.
  • those married to a Catholic and attending Mass = but unsure what the next step is to becoming Catholic.

 

Adult Confirmation=

This class is offered periodically for those who have celebrated the sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist in the Catholic Church and who practice their faith by regular participation in the liturgical life of the community but who have not yet celebrated the sacrament of Confirmation.
